Eight years have passed since a deadly Plague spread across the lands, leaving only a handful of survivors in Castle Greystone while millions of the Infected roam in the Outlands.

A series of unsettling developments now threaten the safety of the survivors. The Plague seems to be evolving, infecting residents in new ways they cannot understand. At the same time, a series of murders shocks the residents, revealing a deadly secret that undermines their very hope for survival.

Rikard, a former Temple Knight, is haunted by his past but finds an opportunity for redemption in the form of a nine-year-old girl, Sarah, who is immune from the Plague. He embarks on a quest to seek a cure in Pyreum, hundreds of miles away from their sanctuary accompanied by Jessica, a healer, and a few other companions.
