She's made friends along the way but has no idea what happened to her family. One day, a samurai named Saito saves Nokemono from a pickpocketing gone wrong. She soon discovers that the only thing she had left from her father, a sword, was taken by Saito. As she sets out to reclaim her sword and uncover the truth about her family and her past, Nokemono discovers that she is more than just a street fighter. Robin's Review: Nokemono, Noke, is a street-smart, crafty thief I fell in love with from the beginning. As things start to unravel, she goes on a journey or quest, if you will, to get back the only thing she has of her father, and in doing so, she becomes so much more than what she thought she was. With every page, I was captivated by Noke's wit and charm, rooting for her every step of the way, and her character growth was kinda of inspiring. But brace yourself for some twisty turns and exciting adventures. And, omg, the rich and descriptive world-building that was just phenomenal and brought this world to life. This was a thrilling and inspiring tale that I cannot recommend enough. Next Book in the Series: The Wind of Death: Daughter of Blood: Nokemono Part II
