Andre Harcourt has spent each century searching for his reincarnated lost love.
As a vampire, he can never be on his last death as long as Victoria keep coming back. After finding her as Lily Cordova, a millennial witch, it's up to Andre to woo his love all over again, and this time, they'll have to make a choice of turning her into a vampire or leaving her in the afterlife forever.
Robin's Review: This is a love story between Andre and Victoria through time. Haunting and sweet, this novel tells the story of two lovers who are forced to part ways but find their way back to each other through the power of love. Though short, this novel is an emotional rollercoaster that will leave readers feeling satisfied and hopeful. Ashley Brion's writing is truly unparalleled. I could not put this book down for a second, and I cannot wait to see what she comes out with next.

Jan Worthington would give anything to be a normal teenager again...
...going to school, hanging out with her friends. But it’s all gone. When the variant wipes out millions and devastates global resources, society collapses. In this new reality, trust will be either her most precious resource or her greatest weakness.
Robin's Review: The Death of Friendship is book one of the Collapse series. It is a well-written and easy-to-read story. I found it entertaining that the main character, Jan, had pet dogs. I always worry when animals are written into books because they usually die but not here. The author has written this story cleanly and with a touch of spirituality about going through a Covid pandemic. It shows the trials and complications of living during this time.

It was my pleasure to receive a free copy of this book, but that does not affect my opinions in this review of this entertaining story.

Robin's Review: I read this book in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down it was that good. Frightening but good, very good. Both authors are freaking amazing with each telling their story in their own way. Both stories were well-written, descriptive, and made me feel trepidation and terror. Well done, Gentlemen.

It was my pleasure to buy this book at the Living Dead weekend.

“Love Forever” is Poet Mahiraj Jadeja’s second collection of romance contemporary poems after beautiful reception of his first collection “A Lover’s Will”. The work covers all aspects of Love and Emotions, their highs and lows and pain and pleasure. This collection leaves its readers with a relatively intense emotional yet naive foray into love, and does it in a manner which is both pure and intense. The poems aren’t merely romantic words put together but have a deeper meaning to it. Poems are literally painting pictures of different scenarios depicting Love will always remain Forever.
Poet Mahiraj Jadeja has a new collection of 50 poems entitled A Lover's Will. The work covers all aspects of love, from the first questioning ‘What is Love' through poems praising women and lovers to unrequited love. The interaction of lovers who are past the first flush of love, are comfortable in each others company and have an instinctive almost telepathic understanding of each other is explored in ‘As Expected'. In the poem ‘Suicide', the tragedy of a love across a religious divide is sensitively explored.‘Roles of a Lady' shows the three types of love in a woman's life and ‘A Mother's Wish' speaks of the one love a dying woman is yearning for.
Robin's Review: These are nice collections of poems about love. Mahiraj Jadeja has a great style and the love flows throughout these works of poetry.

I received free copies of these books but that in no way influences my opinion of this great poetry collections.

This wasn’t supposed to be my life.
I enjoyed being in the Army Special Forces and was damn good at it.
Now, I was living the life that my brother had dreamed of- the life that killed him.

Becoming a vampire changed nothing, and yet it changed everything.
I was still a soldier, but now I worked for the local vampire king instead of my country.
And I was finally ready to claim my mate.

I just needed to battle her demons.
That is if my own demons didn’t end up destroying both of us first.
Robin's Review:
This was an interesting take on vampires and their society. The story was entertaining. The characters were written well. An enjoyable read.

Thanks so much for an advance review copy of this book. I am voluntarily leaving a review of my personal opinion.

Liminality (The Ancient Ones Trilogy Book 2)
by Cassandra L. Thompson

Artistically Outstanding!

Picking up right where The Ancient Ones left off, David has just discovered the diabolical brother he left for dead in 15th century Romania has returned. Making matters even stranger, the news is delivered by his old friend, Danulf, the half-vampyre/half-lycanthrope he had also presumed dead. As Dan divulges his story to David and his newly reanimated lover, Morrigan, it becomes clear that the ancient pagan god’s history hoped to forget are back.

Another adventure throughout history, from the Carpathian Mountains to Pre-Revolutionary France, the story unfolds to reveal there is a much bigger problem than just the vainglorious Lucius. Even with the addition of a liminal witch named Cahira, the gods find themselves facing a threat that can erase their existence for good. Wrought with adventure, romance, tragedy, and heartache, the second book in The Ancient Ones Trilogy dives deeper into a tale as old as time itself... that bites.
Robin's Review:

I usually summarize the book in my reviews, but I can’t with this one because I do not want to ruin the experience for anyone. Because you know, you can never get that back. It’s what I like to call “love at first read”. You would give anything to read a book like it’s the first time. This book heck this series is like that. “Sigh”

Chronicles of the Undead
by A.F. Stewart

Three generations bound together under a horrifying family secret.
Vampires exist.
Inside the personal journals of the Harrington family, watch a dark and dangerous odyssey unfold. Three members of this tormented family, Samuel, his son Edmund, and Edmund's daughter Charlotte, must come to terms with evil. Set during the 18th and 19th century in London, England, this family must struggle against horror as their lives intersect with supernatural forces. As two intriguing vampires befriend, manipulate, and play with all three souls, altering their lives forever.
Their fears, private confidences and weaknesses are revealed as one selfish act ends in horrific tragedy, with far-reaching consequences. Who succumbs to the seduction and danger of the vampire? Who grapples to combat the evil influence that permeates their lives? Find out in Chronicles of the Undead.
My Review:

This story is told through diary entries of:
Samuel Harrington, Father, 1793-1795, London, England
Edmund Harrington, Son, 1795-1797, London, England
Charlotte Harrington, Daughter, 1825-1826, London, England
…about the involvement of Henri Forain, and the cousin, Eleanor de Burgh.

This was an easy and quick read with a sinister link between these family members and vampires. As diary entries it would seem far removed but it wasn’t. I felt the emotions the writer felt while they put their information down in the diary.
Trigger warnings:
Infidelity, Domestic Violence, Prostitution, Death, Sacrifice

What is the Gates of Eden Universe?
A lot of religions and traditions had some kind of “other” world, a primeval world, unmarred and unstained by human corruption. In the Judeo-Christian tradition it was the Garden of Eden. For the Druids and Celts, it is Annwn. For Louisiana vodouisants it is Guinee.

All the Gates of Eden books are based on a particular mythological or spiritual tradition. While the magical systems are fictional, they are based on rites, lore, and mythologies unique to these traditions. There is a lot of overlap between traditions in these books–what the Druids call one thing, the Voodoo Mambos call something else. In the end, however, we see in these books a magical system that transcends the differences in religion and myth and unifies us all under a common force, a power, something uniquely human but nonetheless absent from our magic-less world. There may be many “Gates,” but ultimately there is one Eden, one Annwn, one Guinee. One humanity.

I couldn’t have explained it better. If you can’t find something in this starter library that you like then I don’t think it can be found. It is such a teaser for all things mythical.
