She helped save the world. But to keep her father alive, she’ll have to bring down a demon all on her own…

Jade is bone-tired from battling a shape-shifting plague. While the 16-year-old knows she was chosen to protect the world, she wonders if she’s the weakest of all her heroic friends. But when she receives nightmarish visions of her demon-possessed father, she is convinced that only she can save his soul.

Enlisting the help of her portal-master friend Kevin, she’s terrified to discover her dark hallucinations are all too real. Now her only hope of banishing the life-draining demon is to unlock her native ancestors’ secrets and enter the treacherous Realm of Lost Souls. If she cannot conjure the full force of her abilities in time, she’ll lose her life, her father and unleash a new host of horrors upon the world.
Can Jade trust her spirit to outwit a demon before she loses everything she loves?

Realm of Lost Souls is the second book in the Chronicles of the Supernatural fantasy series, a paranormal post-apocalyptic adventure. If you like steadfast heroines, dystopian settings, and a dash of blood-curdling horror, then you’ll love JM Hart’s riveting tale.

This is the second book in this series. The first book The Emerald Tablet: Chronicles of The Supernatural Book One is well explained so that you are up to speed. The story building is beautifully detailed. The plot is frightening and surreal. The characters are young adults but with special powers and are easily relatable. Everything clicks into place between the world, story, and characters. It’s the age old good versus evil with demons thrown into the mix.

Wild Refuge: A Yellowstone Shifters Novel
by K. Panikian

Sienna has come to terms with who she is or what she is a puma shapeshifter.

Due to a treaty between the territory alphas, the national parks and national forests were off-limits to the packs. No alpha could enter them, and no shifters could patrol them. After learning to control her puma shifting abilities, Sienna, a Yellowstone Park Ranger, finds peace for the first time in her life.

Except there is a murder of an exiled elk shifter, Daniel found by Soren, a West Yellowstone pack beta. Here to help her investigate the murder is
Nick Ryan a law enforcement ranger in Yellowstone and her sort-of on again off again boyfriend. Also helping is her friend, Jordan who is also a backcountry ranger like her, and a lynx shifter. Not to make things any easier is her old boyfriend Logan Black wanting back in the picture after leaving her long ago over his fear of her beast. Add in an old enemy and tormentor named Blair sticking in her nose where it doesn’t belong, and you got a messy murder. Oh, Did I mention the sexy alpha, August that leaves her wild beast wanting.

She knows that if an alpha saw her Beast form, a powerful hybrid of human and puma, with enormous claws and teeth and unparalleled strength, she would be forced into the life of some kind of super soldier or executed for being too monstrous. So, who does she trust?

Now someone from her past is back under suspicious circumstances, and the competing packs that surround her home are threatening open war.

When the fires start, Sienna knows that she must intervene, even if it risks exposure of her rare power. If she doesn’t figure out the hidden connections, she may lose everything. But is the truth worth her freedom?

The backdrop is Yellowstone National Park with different kinds of shapeshifters. The characters are unique with miles of personality. There’s mystery and shifters and sexual tension and shifters and action and shifters. Get my drift. It was an easy read that was entertaining with drama, suspense, and action. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. And I hope the author writes this series for a long time to come. You got my vote.

His parents’ spirits appear before him, sending him to a forgotten world, Ruesha according to his spirits, he was supposed to witness a major event and reflect, as well as act upon, his actions to determine the future of peace of the galaxy. But what he finds is Charisse Tarren in a bit of trouble. As they work together to survive they become closer in understanding each other’s life paths.

Two very different and powerful people from opposite backgrounds and teachings. A quest for identity, a misunderstanding, and a revelation that will rock a centuries old perception to its core.

It doesn’t get better than that. The story is well written with intense world building. The characters are strong and relatable which makes you root for them throughout the story. It is fast paced, and action filled so much so that you can’t and won’t want to put it down. You will want to read the whole series.

So here it is:

Marked by an angel. Desired by demons. Desperate to be left alone.

Dustyn Walker has never seen an angel, but the birthmark on her back and the magical abilities she’s suddenly gained are undeniably celestial. After a series of earth-alternating events, a large population of the earth died, and other-worldly creatures roamed freely. When she realized no one else in her town could see them, she retreated to her families’ cabin in the mountains.

Returning to town for a supply run and to visit her friend, Dustyn quickly senses a change in town. Something is amiss with the demon activity. When a master demon returns to check on his descendants, Dustyn gets caught up in the family drama. Can she slip out unharmed and live the life she desperately desires, or will she be forced to aid her merciless enemy?

I really loved this story. It was interesting to read about demons and angels and how they are portrayed in this world.

John Michael finds himself trying to solve the mystery himself maybe by being overly observant he can find clues others miss. But if he does will anyone really believe him or will the man in the blue suit catch up to him?

I really liked the character John-Michael. He was sweet and entertaining. The plot was good and flowed easily. But the ending was a twist.

“Gage,” she responded as she closed the door behind her, “as in baggage without the bag,”

If you didn’t read book one in this series called Prey: Emergence then “spoiler alert” Gage is ok.

Bridget “Gage” Grayson thought she was done confronting her past but that was wishful thinking. With the revelation that she isn’t really an orphan because her parents are alive sends her into a tailspin. Now she must choose to trust her father or her family at Prey.

This a complicated storyline that makes you really feel for the main character, Gage. This book is just as fun as the first one but just a little deeper and more frustrating in terms of her relationships.

There is profanity, mild rude humor, and violence in this book.

Bridget “Gage” Grayson is smart and witty but a “hot mess” with no family to call her own she makes her own in the Proactive Resources for Evidentiary Yields (PREY). It exists to solve the cases which law enforcement cannot due to red tape, or lack of resources. But after 5 years her past has finally caught up with her. What will happen next will blow your mind.

If you enjoy a kick butt female protagonist with witty sarcasm, cool cars, hot characters, and adorable dogs then this book is for you.

Now I’m going to read Prey: Revelations book to in this series.

There is violence, profanity, and torture in this book.
