From the first page, I was sucked into the story, ready to embark on another twisted journey with the familiar characters from the previous books. The prose in this book is nothing short of masterful- every word chosen with precision to create a vivid picture in your mind. Wells proves that sometimes, less is more when it comes to descriptions, but he manages to keep you on edge with the carefully crafted narrative style. If you're a fan of mystery, suspense, and all things noir, then this book is a must-read. And even if you haven't read the previous books in the Monochrome series, you'll still be able to fully appreciate the intriguing plot and complex characters that make A Fatal Flood a true page-turner.
