Robin's Review: Wow, what a seat of your pants thrill ride. You had me at snack cake factory and a tank. This was a fast paced, page turner that made me stay up all night to finish it. It had aa interesting and well written plot with a bunch of likable and relatable characters. This story does not disappoint. Snack Cake Factory Melanie, wife and leader Mark, husband Shona, daughter Nathan Platt, friend of daughter Rita Mires, new member Mr. Turner, adopted father Lizzy, daughter Dusty, canine Wolverine Militia Sue Ellen Platt, leader Favorite lines: “As I recall, close column formations require twenty-five to fifty meters between vehicles and a speed under twenty-five miles per hour.” “Like a bully who loses a fight on the playground and runs to his bigger cousins to help him get revenge,” “We’re fleeing, not fighting. Don’t forget that.” “The only way to deal with her when she’s like this is to get away from her, then get farther away from her, then get even farther away.” “Don’t follow Andrew’s lead,” Mr. Turner shouted back toward the break room. “Don’t run through the flames! There’s a crazy old man with a rifle on the other side!” And, as to prove the point, he fired a shot with his AR-15 in their direction. “The charge of the light brigade,” Rita said with a laugh. “Tennyson. I had to memorize that poem in high school. ‘Stormed at with shot and shell, boldly they rode and well, into the jaws of Death, into the mouth of hell rode the six hundred.’” “I’m not suggesting,” Melanie replied. “I’m saying it’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to commandeer that tank and charge the perimeter.” “Oh, my gosh,” Lizzy said. “Guys, we just stole a tank!” Emerging Chaos (EMP Disaster Book 1) Book 1 of 3: EMP Disaster Enduring Chaos (EMP Disaster Book 2) Book 2 of 3: EMP Disaster Thanks so much for an advance review copy of this book.
